Familiar with aprons? What about Cooking Aprons or Chefs Aprons?
As you know, aprons are outer protective garments following apron
patterns that were designed and crafted to cover primarily the front
of the body. There are actually several reasons for wearing
aprons and these garments are commonly worn by
people of all ages for hygienic purposes, while some of those who
have worn aprons use them in order to protect their clothes from
wear and tear.
For years, aprons have been a part of the uniform for a number of work categories. We have all seen the cooking aprons, chefs aprons and most waitresses, nurses, homemakers, and domestic staff wear aprons for several reasons. Where would cooks be without their chefs aprons? It is also interesting to know that aprons are commonly worn just as decorative clothing / garments and nice patterns for aprons are sought after mostly by women with men having a preference to show their sense of humor by using such funny aprons as a statue of david apron in their barbeque apron entourage.
Apron patterns provide styles and flexibility than mere cooking aprons.It is somehow necessary to note that these styles are dependent upon the purpose of the aprons themselves. Aside from this fact, aprons can be designed and crafted and styled from patterns using a variety of materials. For instance, rubber aprons that are commonly employed by persons who are particularly working with risky and toxic chemicals. There are also some lead aprons on the market these days, and these garments are commonly worn by persons who work with X-rays, particularly those medical X-ray technicians who work near radiation. And, there are some aprons such as those used by most carpenters that have sturdy materials with many pockets to handle all the necessary tools working on a building site.
Aprons can be designed and crafted using apron patterns in a number of ways.The basic distinction is usually between waist aprons, which generally cover the body from waist down or bib aprons, which also covers the upper part of the body. Aprons are typically held in place by ribbon-like strips of cloth that are tied in the back. However, in terms of bib aprons, it may either have a strap in around the neck, or shoulder strap that criss-cross in the back, or attach to the waistband.

It is worthy to note that the term "aprons" does not only refer to such things mentioned above. The term is also used more generally to refer to an expanse surrounding some objects. I guess you are all familiar with airports that have concrete aprons around it, where aircraft as well as other vehicles can move about. Another concrete example of this could be the rubberized air cushion of a hovercraft as it is also called an apron. And, in theater, aprons are actually the portions of the stage that are separated by the main curtain and in front of the house or the audience.
